Application Process
Applications must be made online from outside the UK. However, your photograph, and biometric Information, i.e. fingerprints are to be physically submitted to the visa application center. Aside from the eligibility requirements, you will also need, your passport, visa fees for the application, and fees for the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) to access to the UK’s National Health Service (NHS). Processing time generally takes about 3 weeks to get a decision on your visa application.
Duration and Conditions
The duration of your visa depends on the length of your course. You also have an option to extend your visa if you continue your studies in the UK, where You are allowed to work part-time during term time (up to 20 hours a week) and full-time during vacations. You also have Post-Study Options which enable graduates to stay in the UK for up to 2 years (3 years for PhD graduates) to work or look for work.
When to Apply
It is recommended to apply at least 3 months before your course start date. Late applications may cause you to face delays or even be reused entry. To avoid this, it is advisable to check with your university for specific deadlines, or the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) has specific deadlines for processing applications.
